Merlin and Isabelle BANKSIDE
Side A: BANKSIDE (DJ Trogg Mix) 8.04
Side B: BANKSIDE (Fresh Mix) 4.45
The band Merlin and Isabelle was founded in the early 1990s by the two artworld figures. Their first tracks were produced mid-decade, in the context of plans to convert the former Bankside power station into the future Tate Modern. The two BANKSIDE mixes on this 12" encompass a dissonant, junglist dance track co-produced with DJ Trogg (Martin Moore), featuring vocals by Graw and Carpenter; as well as the original Fresh Mix, an ambient home recording. Both were completed in 1995 and have been remastered by Amir Shoat in 2014.
